Scale of JusticeOver the last year we have seen an unprecedented number of Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act (TCCWNA) lawsuits filed in New Jersey courts. This consumer protection law has been on the books for years, but has been the subject of few lawsuits until recently. So what is driving the sudden uptick in TCCWNA cases? And who is really benefiting from the surge in litigation? We will explore these and other questions surrounding the law during a policy teleforum on Thursday, December 11 at noon.

Two attorneys with experience trying TCCWNA cases will lead the discussion.

  • Mike McDonald leads Gibbons P.C.’s Consumer Class Action Defense Team. He represents businesses in a broad range of unfair business practice/consumer class actions and complex commercial disputes.
  • Gavin Rooney of Lowenstein Sandler represents large corporate and institutional clients such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Merck, Verizon and Unitil in complex commercial litigation matters. He recently co-authored an amicus brief on behalf of NJCJI in a TCCWNA case.

If you are interested in participating in the call, please email Emily Kelchen, NJCJI’s Director of Public Affairs, for the call-in information.
